Magnificent World is a maximalist celebration of abundance, wonder, and the layers of joy that compose a life well-lived. Using a large-scale 30” X 40” canvas, this work transforms a traditional floral arrangement into a sprawling, chaotic, and ultimately harmonious ecosystem of color and text.
The composition is anchored by a luminous, oversized yellow vessel, which supports a bouquet of "blooms" rendered in thick acrylic impasto and energetic graphite sketching. Integrated throughout the floral explosion are fragments of paper collage, including snippets of text that act as hidden messages for the viewer. These elements—combined with playful, spray-painted orbs and delicate line work—represent the "magnificent" small details that make up our individual worlds.
By utilizing the 1.5-inch deep gallery profile, I have treated the canvas as an immersive object. Beautiful World is designed to pull the viewer in, encouraging them to get lost in the layers of "beautiful noise" and find their own moments of gratitude within the vibrant, messy garden of the everyday.
