In Redacted, I am responding to this "post-truth" era in which we live, an unsettling environment where information is increasingly manipulated, distorted, and edited. In a culture saturated with competing narratives, algorithmic influence, and fractured realities, clarity itself becomes unstable. Redacted reflects that condition through disrupted fragments of text that hint at communication while resisting complete understanding.
The heavily worked black surface acts as both void and archive. Scratches, buried forms, and shifting textures suggest histories beneath the visible layer, creating tension between revelation and obscurity. Faint underlying structures emerge and disappear depending on light and proximity, inviting viewers to navigate ambiguity rather than certainty.
